Just a quick note to those of you who enjoy reading a good blog, or magazine or whatever it is :)) : check out my blog list to the right. Saminaka Compass is a good, well done one. It focuses on Africa, and I know many of my readers are almost as interested in that as I am.

Lag Lag Lag...

Today seems to be very laggy! No point in communicating in SL, so I'll just make a blog entry instead. It's long over due anyway.

I managed to buy a dress before the problems got too heavy, anyway. It's this fiery creation from Boingo. (Behind me Yeti Voom is dancing too)

So... that's all for now. I guess I'll be heading for bed instead. No point in fighting with SL, it is bigger than me....

Huggies!!

Friday-crayfishparty. That's where i'll be.

On friday there's a crayfich party at Second house of Sweden.

Here follows the official information:

Hearty welcome to the Swedish Institute and the CRAYFISH PARTY!

21:00 Swedish Time - Noon Second Life time.

A crayfish party is a traditional summertime eating and drinking celebration in the Nordic countries. The tradition originated in Sweden, where a crayfish party is called a kräftskiva. The tradition has also spread to Finland via the Swedish-speaking population of that country.
Crayfish parties are generally held during August, a tradition that started because crayfish harvesting in Sweden was, for most of the 20th century, legally limited to late summer.
Today, the “kräftpremiär” date in early August has no legal significance. Dining is traditionally outdoors, but in practice the party is often driven indoors by bad weather or aggressive mosquitoes:)

Customary party accessories are comical paper hats, paper tablecloths, paper lanterns (often depicting the Man in the Moon), and bibs. A rowdy atmosphere prevails amid noisy eating and traditional drinking songs (snapsvisa). It is culturally correct to suck the juice out of the crayfish before shelling it.

Wet hair in SL

I snatched this from Tina's blog: http://tinasuniversum.blogspot.com/2009/08/blot-i-haret.html

Hair that gets wet in water? That even drips? Wow, I thaught and followed the link: http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/2009/07/day-1034-sirena-new-water-sensitive-wet.html

Right, it seems cool. I'm unsure about the quality though, as the model seems to have freebie skins... I guess the hair is about the same. But on the other hand, they don't cost much. :) Worth checking out if you are on a low budget.

There are hairs for guys too, and some clothes. Here's the slurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/West%20Sunset/160/50/22

Your second look IS important! Part one

You all know it: SL is great. SL connects people that would never have come in contact before. SL makes you understand things you would never have understood otherwise. Furthermore, SL makes you come in contact with SIDES of a person that maybe even their closest friends doesn't know about.

And in SL you can truely express your inside. You can show your inside on your outside in a way that is never possible otherwise. In fact, in SL you expect that the appearance of the person you meet, is consiously chosen to show everyone who you are.

For example, if you have an angry face, don't expect people to easily see through that. You will automatically be seen as an angry person. Same goes for clothes, hair, accesories and AO! Especially AO will give your avatar an expression, be sure it is the expression you want!

This is something I will continue write about but this time I will focus on the face. Shape and skin makes big differences.

Examples: The first picture here is of me in my regular shape (made by Dyna Diller), and in one of my favourite skins from Soul. Notice the curve of the lips. Makes me look sweet and kind.

This next one is another of my favourite skins; giraffeskin from Street Dermatology. The special thing with this skin is ofcourse the giraffe pattern, but I always look for that nice curve on the lips too. And the general quality of the skin. To me, originality plays a big part too. Whats the point in looking like everybody else?

Next picture is still the same shape, but a Naomi skin from Redgrave. I love the colour of the lips in this one, but look how the skin makes me look less happy. I look more like I have some attitude, right?

Now, back to the first skin, but with a completely different shape. see the difference? This girl doesn't look happy at all! She looks a bit as if she sees something that the cat dragged in, hope she's not looking at you.....

to be continued.....
